BARRICK GOLD CORPORATION: CHANGE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dr. David Naylor has elected to leave Barrick Gold Corp.'s board of directors in order to focus on the resumption of his academic duties on a full-time basis.

"We thank David for his valuable contributions to Barrick, and wish him well in his future endeavours," said Barrick chairman John L. Thornton.
