About The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The content within The 7 Habits training is directly from The
7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which was
written by Stephen
Covey in 1989 and has sold more than 20 million
copies and has been published in 40 languages worldwide. The principles
in the book have guided corporate and government boardroom decisions for
years and are now being used to inspire young students of elementary
school age to develop the skills and self-confidence to lead their lives
and succeed in the 21st century.
The 7 Habits training integrates the principles of personal
leadership and effectiveness in everyday, age-appropriate language into
the core subjects and curriculum of an elementary school. It is a
holistic school-wide experience for teachers and students and creates a
common language and culture within the school built on proven
principle-based leadership skills found in The 7 Habits of Highly
Effective People.
The process is implemented as follows:
- The staff (teachers) identifies a vision of the outcomes they
want for their school.
- Teachers learn The 7 Habits and then act as role-model
leaders.
- Teachers are taught how to pervasively build The 7 Habits
and other key leadership tools into school culture and curricula in
order to effectively teach the timeless principles to students.
- The school’s teachers and students utilize a number of tools,
including Franklin Covey consultants to help them implement and
reinforce the process year after year.
