The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, April 3, edition that Bank of Nova Scotia analyst Ovais Habib has elevated his rating on Kirkland Lake Gold ($41.40) to "sector outperform" from "sector perform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Habib targets the shares at $50. Analysts on average target the shares at $51.76.
Elsewhere, GMP Genuity Group analyst Steven Butler also upgraded Kirkland Lake to "buy" from "hold" with a share target of $51.75. The Globe's Niall McGee reported on Aug. 2, 2018, that Kirkland Lake was the best-performing stock in the materials sector of the S&P/TSX. The shares were then worth $30.09. The Globe reported on Jan. 9, 2019, that Desjardins Securities analyst Raj Ray lowered Kirkland Lake to "hold" from "buy." He said the shares were "fairly valued." He targeted the shares at $39. The shares were then worth $34.42. The Globe's Ian Tam recommended buying Kirkland Lake on Jan. 31, 2019. The shares were then going for $42.27. Mr. Tam said Kirkland Lake was trading at a "reasonable level" on March 28, 2019. The shares could then be had for $41.34.
