ECOLOMONDO APPOINTS JEAN-FRANCOIS LABBE AS INTERIM CEO
Ecolomondo Corp. has appointed Jean-Francois Labbe as interim chief executive officer, replacing
Gary Economo, who will be stepping down from his role as CEO, effective immediately.
Mr. Labbe is a senior executive with extensive business management experience. He has been an executive with Ecolomondo since 2013 and held the position of chief operating officer since 2018. Mr. Labbe has extensive experience in the cleantech and recycling industries, and previously in strategy consulting across North America. He has an MBA from INSEAD, in Fontainebleau, France, and a masters of law from McGill University, in Montreal.
Mr. Economo will continue as consultant for the company, and concentrate on driving certain strategic partnerships and capital market initiatives. His understanding of the company's vision is uniquely suited for his new consulting role. During the transition, Mr. Economo will continue to work closely with the leadership team to ensure a seamless transition.
"Jean-Francois is a real trooper; no one would be better suited to take on the role of interim CEO, while the company begins its search for a new chief executive officer", says Eliot Sorella, chairman of the board.
Mr. Sorella will continue with his role as executive chairman and retain the position of chairman of the board of directors of the company. He will continue to work closely with the management committee and Mr. Labbe to ensure the company's strategic goals are achieved.
