MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 21, 2026 /CNW/ -- Cipher Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TSX: CPH) (OTCQX: CPHRF) ("Cipher" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Rajiv De Silva to the Company's Board of Directors (the "Board"), effective today, September 21, 2026.

Mr. De Silva brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector, including positions at the board of directors and executive leadership level of both publicly traded and privately held companies and has a proven track record of guiding high-growth organizations through key value inflection points and complex mergers and acquisitions ("M&A").

Most recently, Mr. De Silva served as Chief Executive Officer at Venus Concept, where he successfully led the company through a strategic transformation. Mr. De Silva was previously Chair of the board of directors at Covis Pharma S.à r.l., and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Endo International plc. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. (currently Bausch Health), and Novartis AG. Prior to holding these executive positions, Mr. De Silva was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he was a member of the leadership groups of the New Jersey, U.S. office and the global Pharmaceuticals and Medical Products practice. In addition to his executive leadership and management consulting experience, Mr. De Silva currently serves on the board of directors of Azurity Pharmaceuticals Inc., and previously served on the board of directors of AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Canada's Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D) (currently Innovative Medicines Canada).

Mr. De Silva holds an Honors Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Princeton University, a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

With this appointment, Cipher's Board will expand to four members, three of whom are independent directors.
