The Financial Post reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 29, edition that 77 per cent of Canadians would leave their current jobs for the same pay if their new employer offered better mental health support, according to a Morneau Shepell employee research survey. The Post's James McLeod writes that in the survey, 76 per cent of Canadians ranked mental health as the principal factor of their workplace well-being. Sixty per cent claimed they would leave their current employer for less money if the prospective employer offered better wellness benefits. "Canadians are telling us that mental health support is most important to them and yet, many employers are primarily focusing on the compensation side of recruitment and retention strategies and providing well-being support for physical health first," Morneau Shepell president Stephen Liptrap said.
