New York spot gold rose $41.70 to $1,943 on Monday. The TSX-V rose 17.72 points to 709.11 while the TSX gold index added 17.07 points to 403.57. With the TSX-V crossing the 700 threshold, the gold index topping 400 and bullion nearing 2,000 per ounce, it comes as no surprise that Rob McEwen's McEwen Mining Inc. (MUX) looks likely to save its New York Stock Exchange listing yet again. McEwen jumped 12 cents to $1.92 on 1.69 million shares on the TSX today, closing at $1.44 (U.S.) on the NYSE.

Walter Storm's Tudor Gold Corp. (TUD) leapt 44 cents to $3.04 on 1.74 million shares on word that it has drilled a 348-metre interval averaging 2.04 grams of gold and 4.13 grams of silver per tonne from the Goldstorm system at its Treaty Creek project in northwestern British Columbia. Mr. Storm, president and chief executive officer, deemed that hit remarkable, noting that it occurred within a 930-metre interval that averaged 1.07 grams of gold and 2.8 grams of silver per tonne. Stepout drilling has now extended the Goldstorm system another 150 metres northeastward, aided by a hit that averaged nearly one gram of gold equivalent per tonne over 550 metres.
