The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was a positive 85-67-150 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose one point to 582 while polished diamond prices edged higher. Paul Gill's Lomiko Metals Inc. (LMR) lost one-half cent to four cents on 808,000 shares. The company continues to advance its La Loutre graphite project in Quebec, but its stock remains mired near the four-cent mark.
Jean-Raymond Boulle's Diamond Fields Resources Inc. (DFR), unchanged at 21 cents on 3,000 shares, has sold one million shares at 20 cents, raising $200,000 for work on its marine diamond project off the coast of Namibia and its Beravina zircon project in Madagascar. Mr. Boulle, the company's Monte Carlo-based major shareholder, and Albert Gourley, its London-based chairman, each bought 500,000 of the shares. They also each kicked in another $400,000 as a loan that bears interest at 10 per cent and which is repayable by the end of the year.
