The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed as long as the United States does not change its behaviour and accept Iran's conditions to end the war, the newly appointed secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said. Amazon dipped 2.1 per cent and Alphabet fell 3.8 per cent. Signs that heavy investments by Microsoft and Amazon in AI data centres are paying off have lifted sentiment. U.S. consumer and producer price inflation readings, due over the next two days, will be crucial in shaping market expectations on the Federal Reserve's policy path, given chair Kevin Warsh's goal of reducing guidance on monetary policy. The S&P/TSX Composite Index ended up 17.59 points at 36,475.92, eclipsing the record closing high it posted on Monday. Pet Valu was a standout. Its shares rose 9.3 per cent after the company reported quarterly results ahead of estimates.
