Post says new boss Kehoe at OSC cleans house

2024-03-06 09:40 ET - In the News

The Financial Post reports in its Wednesday edition that a handful of executives from across the Ontario Securities Commission have left or are on their way out on the heels of a five-year extension of the term of chief executive officer Grant Vingoe. The Post's Barbara Shecter writes that the head of enforcement, Jeff Kehoe, left at the end of February, and Tyler Fleming, who headed the investor office and was a member of the executive management team, is also gone. In addition, Debra Foubert, director of compliance and registrant regulation, and Pat Chaukos, who leads the innovation office, are leaving after moving into other undefined roles to ease the transition. Ms. Foubert has been at the OSC for more than 11 years, where she oversaw the introduction of client-focused reforms to manage the relationship between investment dealers and their clients, including conflicts of interest. She was also behind the OSC's regulation of crypto trading platforms. Ms. Chaukos joined the regulator more than 20 years ago and was responsible for Launchpad, introduced in 2016 as a way for fintechs and other tech start-ups to test the market without the full financial burden of registration and regulation.
