"Ontario Now has 1,000 Legal Cannabis Stores!" cheered an undated but new blog post on the website of the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS, the provincial wholesaler). The Ontario regulator responded to the rising chorus of criticism by announcing on Sept. 1, 2020, that it would pick up the pace of licensing. It has made good on that promise. There are now 1,095 stores in Ontario, to Alberta's 654.
