New York spot gold regained $60.20 Wednesday, ending the session at $4,388.10. The TSX Venture Exchange also recovered, adding 5.84 points to 962.50, while the TSX gold index jumped 20.12 points, ending the day at 956.56. Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR) was among the strong silent types, adding $1.16 to $15.40 on 1.95 million shares, while Iamgold Corp. (IMG) rose $1.15 to $27.95 on 2.5 million shares. Americas Gold and Silver Corp. (USA) also did well, adding 48 cents to $7.48 on 2.45 million shares.
Louis Castro and Brad George's Orosur Mining Inc. (OMI), up one-half cent to 28 cents on 356,000 shares, broke a three-week silence today, alliterating that its activity at Anza is accelerating. Anza, a 53,000-hectare gold project in western Colombia, recently expanded in size and drilling is under way in various areas, the company cheers, so look for a steady stream of assays.
