New York spot gold added $10.20 Thursday, taking a break at $4,603.10. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 1.32 points to 1,004 while the TSX gold index added 7.03 points, ending the day at 1,022. Equinox Gold Corp. (EQX) was among those southbound, as it lost 24 cents to $18.64 on 9.2 million shares in silence. Equally mum but more buoyant was Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA), which added $2.06 to $40.53 on 2.82 million shares.

Stephen Kenwood's Majestic Gold Corp. (MJS) closed unchanged at 10.5 cents on 297,000 shares on word of a settlement with a dissident major shareholder -- prepare for some tongue twisting -- Hong Kong-based Fan Zhong Kong. Majestic says that it recently provided Mr. Kong with further information regarding its business strategy, including the rationale for its recent financing and its plans to pursue opportunities intended to diversify and strengthen its operations.
