New York spot gold regained $47.70 to $4,122.50 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange recouped 11.76 points to 898.34, while the TSX gold index added 22.86 points to 761.68. Most precious metals miners moved higher with bullion. Trekor Metals Ltd. (TKO) rose 73 cents to 9.91 on 2.27 million shares while Orezone Gold Corp. (ORE) added 13 cents to $2.37 on 2.74 million shares. Atico Mining Corp. (ATY), on the other hand, was unchanged at 21 cents on 390,000 shares.

(GGD) rose five cents to $3.11 on 6.04 million shares on word that third quarter production increased 21 per cent over the preceding quarter at its Parral tailings mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. (It did, but it was also 14 per cent lower than a year earlier.)
Worry not: Mr. Langille, president and chief executive officer, said that the tailings mine "had another excellent quarter for the company," with silver production just short of 269,000 ounces and at a five-year high. (The mine also produces gold, just over 3,000 ounces in the latest quarter, which was not at a five-year high.)
