New York spot gold lost $63.40 Tuesday, pausing at $4,505.90. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 6.87 points to 1,002 while the TSX gold index added 7.25 points to 871.79. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) was among those southbound today, as it lost $4.43 to $249.60 on 1.05 million shares. Minera Alamos SA (MAI), on the other hand, added 42 cents to $6.82 on 908,000 shares, but it was driven by word that it has closed its $75-million (U.S.) revolving credit facility to "refinance [its] existing higher-cost capital commitments."

Orvana slid 41 cents to $1.84 on 1.08 million shares as the company says that it is waiting and seeing how the current unrest in Bolivia will unfold.
