New York spot gold fell $92.70 to $4,520.70 on Monday. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 4.09 points to 990.35 while the TSX gold index fell 10.03 points to 828.86. Most of Canada's precious metals miners lost ground today. Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG) did add 43 cents to $55.42 on 1.05 million shares. On the other hand, Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) lost $1.38 to $39.15 on 1.54 million shares and Artemis Gold Inc. (AGI) lost $1.63 to $32.42 on 357,000 shares.
Joseph Ovsenek's P2 Gold Corp. (PGLD) lost one cent to 71 cents on one million shares on word of assays from another 10 holes drilled at the Lucky Strike zone of its Gabbs project, in the Walker-Lane district of Nevada. The headline hit, which spanned 74.68 metres, returned 0.69 gram of gold per tonne along with 0.25 per cent copper. The upper 30.5 metres had the best grades, with 1.32 grams of gold per tonne and 0.38 per cent copper, and the hole bottomed in mineralization.
