Kiran Pitankar's Maple Gold Mines Ltd. (MGM) lost five cents to $2.71 on 188,000 shares on new assays from its Douay project in northwestern Quebec. The headline hit, from the Nika zone, returned 1.1 grams of gold per tonne across 74 metres, aided by a 13.5-metre stretch that ran 2.8 grams per tonne. Much of the gold came from a one-metre subinterval that returned 13.9 grams per tonne.

A second hole at Nika delivered 1.4 grams of gold per tonne across 21.6 metres, and nine others also hit gold. Maple Gold also has assays from two holes drilled into the Porphyry West zone. One yielded 1.3 grams of gold per tonne across 78 metres, with a deeper intercept that held 15.2 grams per tonne over one metre. The second hole produced a 13-metre zone grading 1.4 grams per tonne.
