New York spot gold added $13.40, taking a Monday afternoon pause at $4,506.40. The TSX Venture Exchange dipped 6.02 points to 908.98 and the TSX gold index gained 1.39 points to 847.48 today. Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA) was one of the strong silent types today, as it gained 95 cents to $19.20 on 3.71 million shares. Capstone Copper Corp. (CS) was also mum, but southbound, as it lost 11 cents to $9.67 on 7.58 million shares.

On the other hand, Paul Andre Huet's Americas Gold and Silver Corp. (USA) was both southbound and chatty. First, the company touted "new major discoveries in Idaho" and "a strong 2025 resource and reserve update" -- listing a reserve of 2.96 million tonnes at 272 grams of silver per tonne, good for 25.8 million ounces. That is but a fraction of the 30-million-tonne resource across all categories that, at an average grade of 252 grams per tonne, tallies to 249 million ounces of silver.
