New York spot gold dipped $30.10 Tuesday, taking a break at $5,028.30. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 5.31 points to 1,032.2, while the TSX gold index added 7.77 points to 976.54. Canadian golds were a mixed bunch today. Some gained ground, like Galiano Gold Inc. (GAU), which added 18 cents to $3.99 on 879,000 shares. Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG), on the other hand, fell $2.86 to $64.16 on 1.74 million shares, and GoGold Resources Inc. (GGD) dropped nine cents to $3.17 on 4.79 million shares.
There were larger declines, but they were driven by news. Brad George's Orosur Mining Inc. (OMI) slid 12 cents to 45 cents on 3.22 million shares on a maiden resource estimate for the Pepas deposit on its Anza project in Colombia. The company lists 1.14 million tonnes indicated at 5.46 grams of gold per tonne and another 190,000 tonnes inferred at 2.99 grams per tonne, a total of 219,000 ounces.
