New York spot gold rose $1.90 to $3,369.40 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 2.67 points to 715.97 while the TSX gold index lost 2.06 points to 504.45. Imperial Metals Corp. (III) suffered a hit in silence today, as it fell 68 cents to $4.57 on 453,000 shares.

Edward Gosselin's Kobo Resources Inc. (KRI) rose one cent to 33.5 cents on 15,000 shares on word it has drilled additional encouragement at its Kossou project in Ivory Coast. The latest assays from the Jagger zone continue to show broad zones of mineralization, the company enthuses, continuing to extend the footprint of the gold-bearing structures along strike and at depth.

The top hit returned 2.13 grams of gold per tonne across eight metres, aided by a two-metre portion with seven grams per tonne. A second hole returned 1.14 grams per tonne across 21.5 metres and a third managed a 20-metre interval with 1.41 grams per tonne, also with variable grades. The latter hole included a four-metre zone with 1.25 grams per tonne and a five-metre stretch with 3.7 grams per tonne, leaving the other 11 metres with just 0.42 gram per tonne.
