The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a positive 93-80-147 as the TSX Venture Exchange added 16 points to 846. Mark Tommasi's Azincourt Energy Corp. (AAZ) was unchanged on its hamster wheel Wednesday, closing at four cents on 1.95 million shares on drill core assays from its Snegamook uranium project in Labrador. The two hole, 540-metre effort produced a headline hit of -- hold on to your tuques -- 0.07 per cent uranium across 0.6 metre, with most of the mineralization sitting in a 0.2-metre portion that graded 0.14 per cent.
A second interval in that hole, which had been drilled just 1.5 metres from a historical twin, ran 0.03 per cent across 0.6 metre. (The older twin had produced 0.97 per cent uranium oxide across 0.5 metre.) The second hole, drilled from the same site but with a greater dip, encountered a 0.3-metre zone that graded 0.03 per cent uranium oxide. A second interval managed a longer hit -- 0.6 metre -- but it graded just 0.03 per cent.
