Gadzooks! The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Monday was a terrible 49-114-157 as the TSX Venture Exchange slid 27 points to 894. The fight for control of TNR Gold Corp. (TNR) continues. Kirill Klip, the company's executive chairman -- the executive offices being both president and chief executive officer -- says that the company intends to fight a bid by a dissident group, led by Jon Christian Evensen and his Eucalyptus Resources Opportunities Fund 1 LP, which is seeking a court order preserving the votes of shareholders already cast.

TNR, you recall, had scheduled its annual general meeting for last week, but the company abruptly cancelled the gathering four days before the event. The cancellation was "necessary and in the best interests of the company and its stakeholders," said management, citing its continuing investigation of "suspected co-ordinated acquisitions and voting of TNR shares by Eucalyptus ... and certain shareholders believed to be acting jointly or in concert with Eucalyptus."
