The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score was a dreary 59-114-147 on Wednesday as the TSX Venture Exchange fell 15 points to 925. Christian Kargl-Simard's Blue Moon Metals Inc. (MOON) leapt 58 cents to $8.08 on 962,000 shares Tuesday on the initial assays from its continuing 18,000-metre relogging program at Springer, its tungsten project in Nevada.
A seven-metre interval in one of the retested Springer holes yielded 1.28 per cent tungsten oxide and 0.01 per cent molybdenum, while a second mustered a 13.72-metre true-width hit that graded 0.22 per cent molybdenum oxide and 0.03 per cent molybdenum. A third hole split the difference, with a 6.34-metre true width intercept that ran 0.64 per cent tungsten oxide and 0.01 per cent molybdenum.
Mr. Kargl-Simard, chief executive officer, had his vice-president of exploration, Theodore Veligrakis, cheer on the news. The results from the historical core reassaying program "are very encouraging and continue to validate the quality and scale of the mineralized system at Springer," he enthused. In particular, Mr. Veligrakis beamed, "the higher-grade intervals demonstrate the potential for meaningful grade continuity within the broader tungsten system."
