The critical and specialty minerals box score for Tuesday was a glowing 104-64-152 as the TSX Venture Exchange jumped 19 points to 939. Rebecca Hunter's Geiger Energy Corp. (BEEP) added two cents to 23 cents on 322,000 shares Monday on word it has intersected a 90-metre near-surface zone of uranium mineralization that displayed radioactivity with up to 15,022 cycles per second, from a new hole at its Fox target in Northern Saskatchewan. Fox is one of the company's two new discoveries this year -- the other is Apollo -- and both will get close looks next year.

Mind you, that scintillating scintillometer reading occurred over just a few centimetres of the mineralized zone, with the best subinterval of substance yielding 3,417 cycles per second over a 5.3-metre stretch. A second, deeper subinterval produced nearly 2,100 over 18 metres, while a third, between the two, managed 1,187 cycles per second across 21.8 metres. Assays are pending.
