The critical and specialty minerals box score for Tuesday was a so-so 75-92-143 as the TSX Venture Exchange lost seven points to 966. Surge Battery Metals Inc. (NILI) has been silent for the past month but it was a busy trader today, adding one-half cent to 88 cents on 3.96 million shares. The company is busy with its Nevada North lithium project in northeastern Nevada, which it recently credited with 657 million tonnes measured and indicated at 3,007 parts per million lithium, and 271 million tonnes inferred at a lesser grade.

Kerem Usenmez's Volta Metals Ltd. (VLTA) lost one-half cent to 23 cents on 813,000 shares. The company has more assays from its Springer rare earth deposit near Sturgeon Falls in Northern Ontario. The highlight hit was a 0.5-metre near-surface intercept that graded 236.6 grams of gallium oxide plus 6.4 per cent total rare earth oxides. The gallium intercept shows the mineralization extends significantly beyond the currently defined main rare earth mineralized zones, "demonstrating a broader gallium distribution," the company cheers.
