The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score was a dreary 54-116-140 on Wednesday as the TSX Venture Exchange fell six points to 886. First Atlantic Nickel & Cobalt Corp. (FAN) was a busy trader today, dropping four cents to 72 cents on 1.97 million shares without news. First Atlantic has lately been cheerleading a plan to produce geologic hydrogen from the ultramafic rock on its Pipestone XL nickel and cobalt project in Newfoundland -- enough of it to power a proposed mine.

Rita Adiani's Titan Mining Corp. (TI) added eight cents to $3.29 on 66,000 shares. The company is touting results of a germanium evaluation program on its Empire State Mines property in upstate New York. The testing examined material from several zones on the zinc deposit, and one of the largest of the areas yielded one of the best assays, as one sample from the Lower Mahler area ran 81.1 grams per tonne. A test from Mud Pond Main also did well, with one sample yielding 85.6 grams per tonne and a second running 74.2 grams per tonne.
