The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was an oh-woe-is-me 30-157-123 as the TSX Venture Exchange crashed 64 points to 956. Dermot Desmond's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD) continued to plumb new lows this week. It hit a record low of three cents on Monday, reset the clock on Wednesday at 2.5 cents and then ended today down one-half cent to two cents on 1.31 million shares. Mountain Province traded above $7 when mining began at its Gahcho Kue mine a decade ago. Unfortunately, while the mining has been everything one could hope for, the diamond market has been horrible.

Dr. Luisa Moreno's Graphano Energy Ltd. (GEL) added one-half cent to 12 cents on 4,000 shares. The company has grab sampled rock grading up to 26.5 per cent graphite at the Black Jack showing on its Black Pearl property, just east of the Standard mine in southwestern Quebec. The new showing is just one kilometre northwest of Graphano's Black Pearl discovery.
