The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a bleak 60-129-121 as the TSX Venture Exchange slid 29 points to 1,047. Alphamin Resources Corp. (AFM), a high-grade tin miner in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, lost two cents to $1.21 on 4.01 million shares today. The company has done well over the past several years, successfully dodging the worst of the problems plaguing what has been the land of murder and mayhem as often as not.

Natasha Dixon's Mink Ventures Corp. (MINK) fell one-quarter cent to 13 cents on 48,000 shares. The company has assays from drilling at its Warren project, near Timmins in Northern Ontario. The headline hit was a 7.1-metre near-surface intercept of massive sulphides in the A zone, which graded 0.44 per cent nickel, 0.28 per cent copper and 0.06 per cent cobalt. A second hole, this one from the D zone, returned a 2.5-metre intercept that ran 0.35 per cent nickel, 0.14 per cent copper and 0.06 per cent cobalt.
