The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was a buoyant 114-63-133 as the TSX Venture Exchange leapt 35 points to 977. Dean Hanisch's Focus Graphite Inc. (FMS) lost two cents to 34 cents on 311,000 shares. The company has the final assays from -- read carefully here, this is not a typo -- its 2022 drill program on its Lac Tetepisca project, in the Manicouagan district of Quebec.
Yes, the drilling was completed in 2022 -- a 74-hole, 15,000-metre effort designed to define and expand the deposit. The assays have been dribbling in since then, not unlike a once down-on-their-luck couple getting a few more of their furnishings out of hock with the arrival of each new paycheck. This is the last of the assays, the company cheers, covering the last of the 22 of the holes drilled on the southwestern extension of the West Limb area.
The assays include a 39.16-metre true-width interval grading 9.02 per cent graphite, a hit aided by a 10.5-metre portion that ran 24.5 per cent. A second hole managed 8.9 per cent across 12.55 metres and a third mustered 8.17 per cent over 11 metres. The work also encountered a second, structurally distinct mineralized horizon, which returned a hit grading 9.71 per cent graphite across a true width of 20.2 metres.
