The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a bleak 62-122-126 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell 25 points to 875. Michael Tucker and Michael Gray's Perseverance Metals Inc. (PMI) lived up to its name, closing unchanged at 65 cents on 2,000 shares. It had jumped eight cents on 2,000 shares yesterday on assays from the Baseline zone of its Lac Gayot project in Quebec that returned "early success."
Assays from one of two new holes produced 4.13 per cent nickel, 0.33 per cent copper and 0.14 per cent cobalt, along with 1.53 grams of palladium and 0.14 gram of platinum per tonne, but over just a 0.3-metre interval. That rich vein occurred within a 1.1-metre mineralized zone, with the 0.8 metres of additional rock holding a still respectable 0.78 per cent nickel, 0.69 per cent copper, 0.04 per cent cobalt and 0.38 gram of palladium per tonne. The other hole delivered lesser grades over a 1.6-metre interval.
