The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a so-so 80-66-164 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose four points to 786. Disappointing news -- something all too common with junior explorers these days -- often comes lurking in a cozy hideaway. Indeed, it appears that James Bruchs's Tsodilo Resources Ltd. (TSD), up one cent to 13.5 cents on 5,000 shares today, has tucked an update about its energetic-but-risky BK16 kimberlite project in Botswana into its end-of-news boilerplate -- you know, the cheery corporate summary that investors rarely read -- and buried it deeper still in its last quarterly report.

For years, the "about Tsodilo" summary droned on about how the company was "an international metal and diamond exploration company engaged in the search for economic diamond and metal deposits," hunts that included the "BK16 kimberlite project in the Orapa kimberlite field." This spring, Mr. Bruchs, chairman and chief executive officer, amended the prose. Now, Tsodilo is an "international resource exploration company engaged in the search for economic metal deposits," and there is no mention of BK16.
