The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a weak 78-95-137 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose two points to 588. Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD) lost one-half cent to 20 cents on 177,000 shares, ending a short and modest recovery after the stock crashed to a new low of 17.5 cents late last week, following word of another yearly loss and prospects for a challenging 2024.
Yari Nieken's Margaret Lake Diamonds Inc. (DIA), halted at 16 cents last June on word it intends to become Emerging Goldfields Resources Inc. through a reverse takeover, has gotten out of diamonds -- this time, it appears, for good. Margaret Lake and Emerging have said nothing about the matter -- they are apparently too busy working to complete their transformation -- but Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), Margaret's co-venturer on the Diagras project, northeast of Diavik at Lac de Gras, mentioned the matter late last week.
