The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was an upbeat 116-68-126 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose six points to 569. Leni Keough's Olivut Resources Ltd. (OLV) closed unchanged at 10 cents on 1,000 shares. The company is headed into another exploration season seeking diamonds in Canada's North, but once again its down-on-its-luck co-venturer, Dr. Ray Davies's Talmora Diamond Inc. (TAI: $0.085) -- not to mention its own limited treasury -- are weighty anchors on Ms. Keough's enthusiasm.

Spring has sprung anew across the area southwest of Great Bear Lake, so the time has come again to cheer that "numerous targets are drill ready" on Olivut's 100-per-cent-owned HOAM property -- home to dozens of kimberlites but precious few microdiamonds. There was a time -- before the Great Recession -- when Olivut was a regular driller at HOAM, thanks in part to willing investments made by Pierre Lassonde, a renowned gold man who developed a diamond fetish in the early days of Canada's diamond hunt.
