The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a weak 64-102-144 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell six points to 543. Dr. William Lamb and the Lundin family's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) lost one-half cent to 34 cents on 63,000 shares. The company rolled out its feasibility study for the underground expansion of its Karowe mine in Botswana late last week in what appears to be an "oh my, did we forget to do that" move. (The study is dated June 30, 2023, and some of the details -- the delay and cost overrun horror stories -- were first revealed in mid-July.)

Whatever the reason for the delay, Dr. Lamb, who was both predecessor and successor to Eira Thomas as Lucara's president and chief executive officer, was "excited to share the updated feasibility study" for the underground expansion. The update, he applauds, "reinforces our strategic decision to extend mine life and continue to generate benefits for our stakeholders."
