The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a ho-hum 97-94-119 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose one point to 555. Dr. Leon Daniels and Graham Warren's Pangolin Diamonds Corp. (PAN), which last traded late last month and has sat at "no-bid" in March, has been flatlined at one-half cent -- as low as one can go on the TSX-V -- since late in 2022, save for a few brief forays to the one-cent mark. And so, when the company cautions investors to "be aware that historical results are not necessarily indicative of future performance" -- it should perhaps be taken as a faint glint of hope, not the standard regulatory caution.

Unfortunately, hope is rarer than diamonds at Pangolin these days, as the company had a working capital deficiency of $1.66-million at the end of 2023. Just over $1.08-million of that is a loan payable -- to an unknown lender -- a debt that first appeared as a $100,000 loan three years ago. The amount has been growing since then, by $350,000 last year alone. Fortunately, it does not bear interest and has no fixed terms for repayment, other than it comes due on demand.
