The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a discouraging 62-98-150 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell eight points to 550. Once known as "no-bid Talmora" because it traded roughly once per lunar cycle, Dr. Ray Davies's Talmora Diamond Inc. (TAI) closed unchanged at five cents on 1,000 shares. The company now trades most days, and it recently reached five cents, its highest point in nearly three years. The company has registered for this year's Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention in Toronto -- the country's premier dog and pony show for promoters looking to tout their coming plans.

Talmora, it appears, is looking to reactivate its 100-per-cent-owned Horton River diamond project and the associated Seahorse project that it shares with Leni Keough's Olivut Resources Ltd. (OLV: $0.07). Both are intriguing but perennially cash-starved plays north of Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories. While there have been few signs of action on either property for the past few years, there are now a few gasps of life on Talmora's website.
