The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Thursday was a mediocre 79-82-149 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell fractionally to 611. Adam Lundin and Eira Thomas's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) dipped to a low not seen in nearly 20 years, hitting 35.5 cents in intraday trading. Lucara, unchanged at 37.5 cents on 260,000 shares today, will reveal its second quarter results next week.

Bryce Crocker's Jervois Global Ltd. (JRV) lost one-half cent to 5.5 cents on 886,000 shares. The company plans to drill its Sunshine deposit, adjacent to its Idaho Cobalt Operations (ICO) project in east-central Idaho. Mobilization of equipment and crew is already under way, with the first drilling expected to start in about a month. (Before one likens Jervois's mobilization to that of the Russian army, either the Tsar's or Putin's -- slow as a sloth but with plenty of flags flying and trumpets blaring -- remember that the company is awaiting government approval. Bureaucrats can be slower than a mule hauling a howitzer through a hayfield.)
