The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Oct. 6, edition that National Bank Financial analyst Vishal Shreedhar has reiterated his "sector perform" recommendation for Sleep Country Canada. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Shreedhar cut his share target back by $2 to $27. Analysts on average target the shares at $28.50. The Globe says Mr. Shreedhar expects a "tepid" macroeconomic backdrop to "constrain" Sleep Country Canada Holdings in the near term, emphasizing the presence of "subdued" industry indicators. Mr. Shreedhar says in a note: "Although the premium segment is currently holding up well, we expect incremental pressure on disposable income to more fulsomely manifest as Canadians renew their mortgage. We estimate incremental disposable income pressure of $600+ per month for those that renew their mortgages (2024 through 2026). That said, our expectation is that easier comparisons year-over-year in 2024+ should enable EPS growth. Sleep Country's balance sheet is solid. We model Q3/23 net debt to EBITDA of 2.0 times, which provides flexibility for Sleep Country to further execute on share repurchases and/or strategic imperatives."
