iShares S&P/TSX Energy Transition to trade on TSX

The Toronto Stock Exchange reports that iShares S&P/TSX Energy Transition Materials Index ETF will be listed at 5:01 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2023, for trading at the open on Sept. 12, 2023. According to the TSX, there will be 50,000 Canadian-dollar-denominated units of the exchange-traded fund (ETF) issued and outstanding, with no securities reserved for issuance. The units will trade under the symbol XETM and with Cusip No. 46438C 10 8.

The TSX reports that the ETF seeks to provide long-term capital growth by replicating, to the extent possible, the performance of the S&P/TSX Energy Transition Materials Index, net of expenses. According to the TSX, the ETF expects to pay cash distributions on its units on a semi-annual basis. The ETF's manager and trustee is BlackRock Asset Management Canada Ltd., its transfer agent and registrar is State Street Trust Company Canada at its principal office in Toronto, and its fiscal year-end is Dec. 31.

As stated in its prospectus dated Aug. 29, 2023, the ETF will issue 50,000 units at $40 per unit in its initial public offering. It expects to close the offering on Sept. 8, 2023. The designated market-maker is RBC Capital Markets.
