WESTERN COPPER AND GOLD PROVIDES UPDATE ON CASINO ASSESSMENT PROCESS

Western Copper and Gold Corp. through its wholly owned subsidiary, Casino Mining Corp., has been informed by the executive committee of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board that the deadline for issuance of the final revised environmental and socio-economic statement guidelines for the Casino copper-gold project's review by a panel of the board has been extended to Sept. 15, 2023. The previous deadline was Aug. 17, 2023.

The company is currently working on its environmental and socio-economic statement and will be able to give guidance on the timing of submittal after receipt of the final guidelines.

"We continue to work closely with federal, territorial and first nation governments and stakeholders to ensure that the Casino copper-gold project will provide long-lasting benefits to the Yukon."
