Wescan Goldfields stakes 1,852-ha Lindsay Lake project

2026-07-27 15:53 ET - News Release

Mr. W. Connor MacNeill reports

WESCAN GOLDFIELDS INC. STAKES NEW LINDSAY LAKE GOLD PROJECT WITHIN THE EMERGING LA RONGE GOLD BELT, NEAR THE PAST-PRODUCING KOMIS GOLD MINE

Wescan Goldfields Inc. has staked a new 1,852-hectare gold claim, the Lindsay Lake project in Saskatchewan's historic La Ronge gold belt. The property lies only 7.1 kilometres south of the past-producing Komis gold mine. The La Ronge gold belt is one of Saskatchewan's most prospective gold districts, host to numerous past-producing gold mines and gold deposits. Although a historic gold producer, the belt remains significantly underexplored and highly prospective to host additional significant mineralization. The emerging potential of the belt is being demonstrated by the recent exploration success of Trident Resources at the past-producing mine, Contact Lake. The Lindsay Lake project adds to Wescan's existing land package within the belt, which includes the company's Fork Lake and Jojay Lake properties.

Highlights:

  • New 1,852-hectare Lindsay Lake project staked in the historic La Ronge gold belt, 100 per cent owned by Wescan;
  • Located only 7.1 kilometres south of the past-producing Komis gold mine;
  • Covers La Ronge metavolcanic rocks that host the majority of gold mineralization in the belt;
  • Covers a prospective granodiorite contact -- a favourable structural setting for gold-bearing vein emplacement in the La Ronge gold belt;
  • Excellent access and enhanced rock exposure -- located 1.8 kilometres from the Komis mine access road and approximately four kilometres from Highway 102, with a forest fire last summer expected to significantly improve rock exposure for prospecting and geological mapping.

The metavolcanic rocks of the La Ronge gold belt host the majority of the gold mineralization identified within the belt. The property covers these same La Ronge metavolcanic rocks, which also host the gold mineralization at the Komis gold mine. In addition, the claim covers a prospective geological contact where the metavolcanic rocks meet a large granodiorite intrusive body. Gold-bearing veins in the La Ronge gold belt are commonly emplaced along this type of contact, which marks a significant rheological contrast, or plane of weakness, that can focus mineralizing fluids and localize gold deposition.

The company intends to prospect the property going forward. A forest fire burned through the area last summer, removing vegetation and ground cover, and the company anticipates significant rock exposure that will aid prospecting and geological mapping across the claim. The property also benefits from excellent access, located only 1.8 kilometres from the Komis mine access road and approximately four kilometres from Highway 102.

The combination of favourable host rocks, a prospective intrusive contact, enhanced rock exposure and excellent access leads the company to consider the property to be highly prospective for gold mineralization.

Private placement

Further to the company's press releases dated June 18, 2026, June 15, 2026, June 4, 2026, and April 30, 2026, with respect to the previously announced non-brokered private placement of units of the company at a price of 22 cents per unit, the company also announces that it has paid additional finders' fees in an aggregate amount of: (i) $12,600, in cash; and (ii) an aggregate of 57,272 common share purchase warrants issued to certain eligible finders in accordance with the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.

About Wescan Goldfields Inc.

Wescan Goldfields is a Canadian junior exploration company focused on the exploration and development of gold projects in Saskatchewan's historic La Ronge gold belt. The company holds a 100-per-cent interest in four gold projects: the newly staked Lindsay Lake project, the Munro Lake project, the Jojay Lake project, which hosts the Jojay gold deposit, and the Fork Lake project, which hosts the past-producing Jasper gold mine.

The Jojay gold deposit is the subject of a 2010 National Instrument 43-101-compliant mineral resource estimate completed by A.C.A. Howe International Ltd., comprising an indicated resource of 420,000 tonnes grading 3.7 grams per tonne gold and an inferred resource of 630,000 tonnes grading 4.3 grams per tonne gold (at a 2.0-gram-per-tonne-gold cut-off). The Jasper gold mine was operated by Cameco Corp. in the early 1990s and produced approximately 155,000 tonnes at a grade of approximately 18.5 grams per tonne gold prior to its closure. Shares of Wescan trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol WGF.
