Webtech Wireless Inc. (TSX: WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, today announced that in a distribution partnership with a Fortune 100 US wireless carrier, has entered into a $2.3 million agreement to implement a GPS/AVL fleet management solution with Maryland State Highway Administration (Maryland SHA), powered by Webtech Wireless.

Maryland SHA will be deploying the Webtech Wireless' GPS/AVL fleet management solution in over 2300 vehicles, each with a multi-year subscription licence plan. The deployment includes a combination of both Maryland SHA and third-party contractor vehicles. The solution will enable Maryland SHA to monitor snow plow material usage, manage highway contractors, and gain visibility into real-time location and vehicle activity. In 2013, Maryland SHA launched a pilot program that involved deployment of Webtech Wireless' solution in 15 vehicles. The success of the pilot program has resulted in the expansion of the GPS/AVL fleet management solution to include the entire winter fleet operation.
