The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 16, edition that TD Securities analyst Sean Steuart has reaffirmed his "hold" recommendation for Western Forest Products. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Steuart trimmed his share target by 10 cents to 75 cents, matching the consensus. Mr. Steuart says in a note: "Western is trading at steep valuation discounts to long-term average multiples, but, in our view, the company lacks the balance-sheet flexibility of some larger-cap peers, which limits potential catalysts (e.g., acquisition potential or returns of capital to shareholders). We expect gradual progress toward repositioning the company's asset base." The Globe reported on Oct. 20 that Raymond James had reaffirmed its "market perform" recommendation for Western Forest Products. The shares could then be had for 76 cents. The Globe reported on Nov. 10 that Mr. Steuart had reaffirmed his "hold" recommendation for Western Forest Products. The shares could then be had for 69 cents. The Globe reported on Jan. 23 that Scotia Capital analyst Ben Isaacson rated Western Forest Products "sector perform" in new coverage. The shares were then going for 70.5 cents.
