The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Feb. 12, edition that National Bank Financial analyst Don DeMarco has lowered his recommendation for Vizsla Silver to "sector perform" from "outperform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. DeMarco slashed his share target by $4 to $6.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $8.71. Mr. DeMarco issued his downgrade following Monday's announcement from authorities in the Mexican state of Sinaloa that they had recovered 10 bodies in the search for workers kidnapped from a mine run by Vizsla Silver. Mr. DeMarco says in a note: "After removing ourselves from the narrative for a few days to review and assimilate ongoing developments since the weekend, we've updated our model and adjusted our Panuco valuation based on limited information from the company and various media outlets. Vizsla's current focus is on the people and collaborating with government agencies and other parties to support investigations. Clearly, this is a difficult time, and our thoughts go to families and colleagues involved. The situation remains fluid, and we are working to better understand the risks and mitigating factors that support our model estimates."
