                                    Vela Minerals Announces Resignation of Director

October 26, 2016, Vancouver, BC   Vela Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: VLA) ("VLA" or the "Company") announces the resignation
of Brady Fletcher from the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Fletcher has accepted an appointment of Managing
Director of the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV). As a requirement of this appointment, Mr. Fletcher has agreed to not
participate as a board member of any company.

On behalf of the Directors, I would like to thank Mr. Fletcher for his contributions to Vela Minerals Ltd. in his role
