The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, March 8, edition that Eight Capital analyst Ty Collin rates Vext Science "buy" in new coverage. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Collin target the shares at 75 cents. Analysts on average target the shares at 73 cents. Mr. Collin sees shares of the cannabis retailer as "cheap on both an absolute and relative basis." He thinks the market is failing to account for the company's "significant growth opportunity" in Ohio, which is a market he expects will more than double in size when adult-use sales begin in the third quarter of 2024. Mr. Collin says in note: "Vext Science is a vertically integrated U.S. cannabis company with a concentrated presence in Arizona and Ohio. It also has unique exposure to the emerging medical market in Kentucky. Though smaller than other MSOs in our coverage, Vext Science has higher leverage to key growth markets, and a lean, focused operating structure that drives industry-leading cash flow generation. While size is often associated with safety, Vext boasts a uniquely sturdy balance sheet, with no near-term debt maturities, no material tax payables, and almost none of the onerous sale-leasebacks that weigh on most of its peers."
