Upside Gold completes 4,645 m of drilling at Kena

2026-08-19 17:41 ET - News Release

Ms. Sophy Cesar reports

UPSIDE GOLD EXCEEDS PLANNED 4,000-METRE DRILL PROGRAM AT KENA GOLD-COPPER PROJECT; DRILLING TO CONTINUE

Upside Gold Corp. has provided an update on its continuing 2026 diamond drilling program at the Kena gold-copper project in southeastern British Columbia.

The company has completed approximately 4,645 metres of diamond drilling, exceeding the 4,000 metres originally planned for the 2026 program. Based on the progress of the program and continuing evaluation of drill core by the company's technical team, drilling will continue beyond the originally planned program. The company is currently focusing its drilling on testing the Kena copper-gold zone, extending southeast along strike from the historic resource. As previously announced on July 15, 2026, the company's Mines Act permit MX-100000131 was extended to Oct. 31, 2026, allowing for continued exploration and drilling into the fall.

"The team has made excellent progress at Kena, and we have already exceeded the metres originally planned for this year's program," said Sophy Cesar, chief executive officer and director of Upside Gold. "With our exploration permit extended through the end of October and a strong treasury following our recent financing, we have the flexibility to keep testing priority targets as the program advances. Each additional metre brings us closer to our objective of an updated mineral resource estimate at Kena in 2027."

Drill core from the program is being logged, sampled and submitted for analysis on a continuing basis. The company expects to report assay results as they are received, reviewed and interpreted.

Results from the 2026 drilling program are expected to form an important component of the company's broader resource evaluation strategy at Kena. Upside intends to combine the new drilling with approximately 5,000 metres of historical drilling completed subsequent to the 2021 historical mineral resource estimate and its continuing evaluation of historical copper and silver analytical data to support the preparation of an updated National Instrument 43-101 mineral resource estimate targeted for 2027. Drill core samples have also been submitted for a program of metallurgical testing to assess gold, copper and silver recoveries together from the mineralized material to support this estimate.

The company will provide further updates on the expanded drill program as drilling progresses.

The information in this press release has been reviewed and approved by Trevor Boyd, PGeo, vice-president, exploration, of the company, a qualified person for the technical information under NI 43-101 standards.
