Sorrento drills 31 m of 0.42 g/t Au At Rodgers Cove

2026-08-06 18:14 ET - News Release

Mr. Alex Bugden reports

SORRENTO RESOURCES LTD. INTERSECTS 31M OF 0.42G/T AU, RODGERS COVE, NEWFOUNDLAND

Sorrento Resources Ltd.'s drill hole RC26-010 has intersected a 31-metre-thick (m) interval with a grade of 0.42 gram per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) at the company's Rodgers Cove project in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Highlights:

  • Drill hole RC26-010 intersected 31 m of 0.42 g/t Au from 100 m, including seven m of 1.01 g/t from 124 m.
  • Drill hole RC26-007 intersected 13 m of 0.79 g/t from 130 m.
  • Mineralization is open along strike, as well as updip and downdip.
  • Drill holes RC26-007 and RC26-010 both ended in mineralization and are open at depth.
  • Drill holes RC26-007, RC26-008, RC26-009, RC26-010, RC26-011, RC26-012 and RC26-013 were all drilled on an NG soil anomaly and are approximately one to 1.5 kilometres (km) distant from the previously reported holes.

Gold mineralization primarily occurs in altered mafic dikes hosted within a quartz diorite. Locally, the quartz diorite also hosts gold and sulphide mineralization in quartz veins, as well as in its ground mass.

Management commentary

"These results continue to validate the scale and potential of the Rodgers Cove system. Intersecting broad zones of gold mineralization over a kilometre from previously reported drilling demonstrates the strength of this emerging target and reinforces our confidence in the project's exploration upside. With mineralization remaining open in multiple directions and several holes ending in mineralization, suggests that we are only beginning to understand the extent of this system. We look forward to advancing our exploration program and unlocking further value for our shareholders," stated Alex Bugden, PGeo, chief executive officer and president, Sorrento Resources.

QA/QC (quality assurance/quality control) commentary

Sorrento Resources QA/QC protocols were maintained through the insertion of certified reference material (standards), blanks and duplicates within the sample stream at approximately one in 10 samples. The drill core was cut in half with a diamond saw, with one-half placed in sealed bags and shipped to the laboratory, and the other half retained on site. Chain of custody is maintained from the drill through to submittal into the laboratory preparation facility.

The samples were delivered to the Eastern Analytical Ltd. facility, Springdale, Nfld., for crushing and pulverizing. Analytical testing was performed by Eastern Analytical laboratory. Splits were analyzed by Au 30-gram fire assay and ICP-34 protocols.

The exploration results described herein are preliminary in nature and are insufficient to define a mineral resource. Further drilling is required to determine the continuity, geometry and grade distribution of mineralization.

Technical services agreement

The company further announces that it has entered into technical services agreement dated July 29, 2026, with Bugden Geoscience Ltd., pursuant to which Bugden will provide geological consulting services to the company until Dec. 31, 2026, at a daily rate, ranging from $375 to $650 per day. The agreement replaces and supercedes the previous agreement with Bugden Exploration Inc. dated Jan. 20, 2026 (see news release dated Jan. 30, 2026). Mr. Bugden is a significant shareholder and an officer and director of Bugden. The transaction constitutes a significant transaction, in accordance with the policies of the Canadian Securities Exchange, as it is a series of transactions with related persons with an aggregate value potentially greater than $100,000.

About the Rodgers Cove project

The Rodgers Cove project is located in Gander Bay, Nfld., near the town of Rodgers Cove and less than 50 km north of Gander, a town with a skilled work force and an international airport. The property is located in a strategic position, as it is on tidewater and is accessible via forest access roads. There is also a nearby transmission line.

It consists of two mineral licences totalling 6,500 hectares (260 claims) in the central Newfoundland gold belt (CNGB), an area known for hosting multiple gold discoveries along major deformation zones. In detail, the property is located within the Exploits subzone, along the Appleton and JBP faults, key structural corridors associated with major gold systems.
