SMARTWELL TECHNOLOGY CORP. ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
David Toyoda and Ian Mallman have resigned from Smartwell Technology Corp.'s board of directors, effective Sept. 14, 2026, and Sept. 12, 2026, respectively. The company thanks them for their service.
Mr. Toyoda will be replaced immediately on the company's board of directors by the company's president, Tony Chan.
Mr. Chan has extensive years and experience in the financial markets as a principal of a brokerage firm, as well as private equity company. He has served as a director on several public companies, as well as chairing another.
Mr. Mallman will be replaced as an independent director on the company's board of directors by Ge Zijian. Mr. Zijian holds a bachelor of pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University and a master of laws from Tsinghua University. Mr. Zijian is a Chinese certified accountant (CPA), as well as licensed PRC lawyer, and holds the banking practitioner qualification. He has previously served as the deputy director of Haidian District Investment Promotion Bureau. He is currently the branch manager of Hangzhou Bank's Beijing branch.
He Yang, the company's chief executive officer, has been appointed as chairman of the company's board of directors.
The company's audit committee will consist of Chris Twell (chair), Dr. Paul Arnison and Ge Zijian.
The changes further strengthen the company's board of directors expertise, enhance corporate governance, and support the company's future business growth, capital markets objectives and strategic initiatives.
