Rottenstone Gold's main project hit by wildfires

2025-06-05 17:55 ET - News Release

Mr. Ryan Kalt reports

ROTTENSTONE GOLD INC. ISSUES STATEMENT ON WILDFIRE ACTIVITY AFFECTING NORTHERN SASKATCHEWAN

Rottenstone Gold Inc. is issuing a corporate statement on wildfire activity affecting Northern Saskatchewan.

As a proponent of an exploration project in one of the affected regions, the issuer extends its thoughts to those residents and businesses of Northern Saskatchewan who have been impacted by the heart-wrenching wildfires.

Rottenstone Gold also extends sympathies to those who have experienced loss in La Ronge (and nearby communities) and it recognizes the efforts of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band for its work during these wildfires to keep community members safe.

The issuer further extends appreciation to those first responders and residents who are battling these wildfires under extremely challenging conditions.

Regulatory disclosure and forward-guidance update

Without limitation and/or exhaustiveness, the issuer's Rottenstone project presently has near or occurring wildfire activity and/or wildfire impact, including by way of its southern end -- being in and around the Besnard Lake area, which is regionally situated proximate to the named Santo and Pisew fires. Fire location maps may be found through the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.

The government of Saskatchewan has implemented a state of emergency, which impacts a wide range of matters in the province, as well as certain subregions in Northern Saskatchewan where the issuer holds project interest. Nearer term, forest fire activity and summer-enduring fire risk levels are expected to impact regional exploration, place various limitations thereupon and be extended in duration given dry conditions. Longer-term impact may result from loss of infrastructure in the area, including, without limitation, within La Ronge, community of which is among the nearest regional hubs to the southern portion of the issuer's Rottenstone project. The issuer expects it may experience variation to forward plans and/or forward intentions as the wildfire situation and elements therewith associated evolve.

The full and/or final impact of the wildfire activity in Saskatchewan as relates to the issuer, its Rottenstone project and/or regional infrastructure, without limitation, is not presently known. In conjunction with its risk mitigation strategies, the issuer has engaged with the government of Saskatchewan, including as relates to relief application pertaining to certain areas of its Rottenstone project which may be most impacted nearer term by the wildfires. Government determination of said recent June 3 application remains ongoing.

Wildfire activity, around which the issuer has little to no control, presents a material risk as relates to mineral exploration and issuer interests. This is particularly so as early-stage mineral exploration is often most effective and/or only viable in northern climates during seasonal exploration windows which provide uncovered ground and/or extended daylight, being in particular the summer period that overlaps with augmented wildfire levels. The issuer has made various disclosures regarding wildfire risks within its prior public filings, including, without limitation, the "Wildfire Activity" subsection of the "Risks and Uncertainties" portion of its most recent management discussion and analysis report for the interim period ended March 31, 2025, as dated May 26, 2025 (a copy of which may be found on SEDAR+).

The current wildfire activity in Saskatchewan and its discernable information is fluid and may change without notice. Relatedly, the issuer may provide further statements and/or public disclosures pertaining to the wildfire situation as and if appropriate, subject to such information generally first being material to the issuer and/or its Rottenstone project and not being matter of public knowledge.
